Worship Ministry Information

The Worship Ministry of Southside Baptist exists for the purpose of equipping the church to love and adore God, its Creator, by setting their mind's attention and heart's affection on God Himself. This is done through singing of songs, reading of scripture, prayer and other elements. The worship ministry also takes the message of hope found in Christ to the community through various outreach events. You will find a list of ministry opportunities below.

Celebration Choir assists the leading of the congregation into the presence of God through leading corporate worship and the use of special music. Prerequisites are: 1) Personal relationship with Jesus and 2) Passion to help others enter into God's presence. We meet on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the Choir Room located on the first floor behind the worship center.

Praise Band: We have a talented group of musicians who have a passion for playing and have decided to use their talents to praise God. They play a vital role in Sunday morning worship. Admission to this group involves an audition process.

Praise Team members assist in the leading of worship in both morning services. All praise team members are required to be a member of the celebration choir. We rehearse with the band immediately following Wednesday night choir practice.

Media Arts Ministry Team: This ministry plays a vital role in the worship experience. Sound, light, and video are used to enhance the worship experience. Involvement in this ministry only requires a love for God, a love for learning, and a passion for serving.

Acts Of Praise shares the message of Christ through interpretative movement and song. They find opportunities both within the church and community to share their message. Rehearsals take place on Sunday Afternoons from 3:30-4:35pm.

Youth Choir meets Sunday evening at 4:35pm in the choir room. They learn music that is Christ-centered but in a style that is relevant to their generation. Performance opportunities occur throughout the year with an annual Youth Choir Tour at the end of the school year.

Children's Choir meets every Sunday evening from 6-7pm as a part of our Children's Ministry events. It is for 1st-6th grade. They are taught what it means to praise God through various singing opportunities throughout the year. The highlight of the year is their spring musical.

Preschool Choir is where the worship journey begins for our young ones. This choir is for ages 2 through kindergarten. They are taught musical concepts, as well as how to praise God. They have many opportunities throughout the year to share the love of Christ. One of the highlights is the annual "Family Night in Bethlehem" production. Preschool choir meets Sunday evening from 6-7pm.
